Chapter 15 – The Video That Ended Every Lie

The prosecution called its first witnesses.

Doctors.

Forensic accountants.

Police officers.

Each testimony strengthened the case.

But everyone knew one moment would decide the trial.

The surveillance footage.

The courtroom lights dimmed.

The screen illuminated.

Camera One.

Khloe walking away.

Vanessa following.

Camera Two.

Vanessa blocking the path.

Camera Three.

A close angle.

Both hands extended.

A deliberate shove.

Gasps echoed through the courtroom as Khloe's body tumbled down the marble staircase.

Thirty steps.

Silence.

When the video ended, no one spoke.

The judge looked toward the defense.

"Any objection to authenticity?"

Defense counsel slowly stood.

"No, Your Honor."

Richard lowered his head.

Vanessa began crying quietly.

Harrison approached the screen.

"This wasn't an accident."

He replayed the final seconds frame by frame.

"You'll notice Mrs. Harrington attempts to leave."

Another click.

"The defendant blocks her."

Another.

"Then uses both hands."

Another.

"The victim never touched her."

He turned toward the jury.

"Intent doesn't require a confession."

"It requires actions."

"And those actions are forever preserved."

The prosecutor rested the remote on the table.

The truth no longer depended on memory.

It lived on video.
