Chapter 2 - The Daughter Who Knew Too MuchThe emergency lights inside the cabin flickered.

The train entered a long tunnel.

Darkness surrounded them.

For a few seconds.

The only light came from the small lamps attached to the walls.

Ethan held Clara’s hand.

“Who are you talking about?”

He already knew the answer.

But he needed to hear it.

Clara looked toward their mother.

Victoria stood several meters away.

Watching.

Waiting.

Calculating.

Clara’s eyes filled with tears.

“Mom.”

The word sounded almost impossible for her to say.

Ethan looked back.

Victoria immediately reacted.

“Clara is confused.”

Her tone became cold again.

“She has been sick for months.”

“She doesn’t understand what she is saying.”

Ethan slowly stood.

“No.”

Victoria stopped.

Ethan looked at her.

“No, Mom.”

His voice became firmer.

“You always say that.”

A strange silence appeared.

“You always say someone is confused when they disagree with you.”

Victoria’s expression changed.

Only slightly.

But enough.

Ethan noticed.

He had spent his entire life studying successful people.

Reading their expressions.

Understanding their weaknesses.

And now.

For the first time.

He saw his mother’s weakness.

Fear.

“You brought us onto this train.”

Ethan looked around.

“You isolated her.”

“You prepared documents.”

“You tried to force something into her.”

His voice trembled.

“Tell me why.”

Victoria remained silent.

That silence was more terrifying than any answer.

Because Ethan knew.

If there was an innocent explanation.

She would have given it immediately.

The assistant, Emily, stepped forward.

Her face was pale.

She looked exhausted.

But determined.

“She was trying to make Clara sign the inheritance transfer.”

Ethan turned.

“What?”

Emily swallowed.

“She knew Clara would never agree.”

“She knew Clara wanted to expose everything.”

Victoria suddenly turned toward her.

“Be careful.”

The warning was quiet.

But dangerous.

Emily stepped back.

“I should have stopped you earlier.”

Ethan looked between them.

“What are you talking about?”

Emily looked at Clara.

Then back at Ethan.

“Your sister discovered something.”

Victoria’s jaw tightened.

“Enough.”

But Ethan raised his hand.

“No.”

The command surprised even Victoria.

“Let her speak.”

The assistant took a deep breath.

“She found financial records.”

“Hidden accounts.”

“Money transferred through companies that don’t exist.”

Ethan stared.

“What companies?”

Emily hesitated.

Then she said the name.

“Sterling Foundation Holdings.”

Ethan’s face changed.

Because that was the family charity.

The organization his father created before his death.

The organization Victoria had controlled for ten years.

“That’s impossible.”

Emily shook her head.

“No.”

“It isn’t.”

“Clara found evidence that millions were moved away from the foundation.”

“She was going to reveal everything.”

Victoria finally exploded.

“Because she wanted to destroy this family!”

The cabin became silent.

Everyone looked at her.

Victoria realized what she had revealed.

Her breathing became heavier.

Ethan stared.

Not because she was angry.

May you like

But because she sounded desperate.

And desperate people revealed the truth.
