Chapter 11 - The Secret Room Beneath The CabinThe lights suddenly went out.

Complete darkness.

A second later.

The emergency lights activated.

Red.

Dim.

Unsettling.

Emily immediately looked toward the control panel.

“The security system has been activated.”

Ethan looked confused.

“What security system?”

Charles answered.

“The one Victoria installed.”

Victoria said nothing.

Ethan looked at her.

“You created a hidden security system inside this train?”

Victoria remained silent.

Marcus smiled.

“She likes to prepare.”

Charles corrected him.

“She likes to control.”

The cabin door suddenly locked.

Everyone heard the mechanism.

A heavy metallic sound.

Clara stepped backward.

“We are trapped.”

Emily tried the handle.

Nothing.

“It won’t open.”

Marcus walked toward the wall.

Then pressed a hidden button.

A section of the metallic panel opened.

Behind it was a small compartment.

Inside were files.

A laptop.

Several storage devices.

Ethan stared.

“What is this?”

Marcus answered.

“Insurance.”

Victoria looked at him.

“You were not supposed to access that.”

Marcus smiled.

“I was not supposed to need it.”

Ethan walked closer.

The files had names.

Dates.

Financial records.

Photographs.

And one folder caught his attention.

A folder with his father’s name.

Daniel Sterling.

His heart stopped.

He opened it.

Inside were documents.

Bank transfers.

Private meetings.

Security reports.

And one photograph.

A photograph of his father meeting someone secretly.

Ethan recognized the location.

The Sterling estate.

The night before his father died.

“What is this?”

Victoria said nothing.

Clara stepped closer.

Then she saw another document.

Her face turned pale.

“What?”

Ethan looked.

The document was a medical report.

Not his father’s.

His own.

From when he was eighteen.

“What does this mean?”

Victoria finally reacted.

“Put it down.”

Ethan looked at her.

“Why?”

“Why do you have medical records about me?”

Nobody answered.

And once again.

Silence became the truth.
