Chapter 2 - The Verdict of the Floor

Shifting to a medium shot, the wife collapsed sideways onto the hard tile floor, writhing in physical agony and gasping for air as the searing pain radiated up her arm. Her mind reeled from the shock, the smell of scorched skin filling the sterile air of the kitchen.
Instead of showing remorse or offering a shred of human empathy, Lorraine stepped directly over her prostrate body. With a cold, heartless smile, Lorraine delivered the verdict of their ongoing tyranny, stepping past the injured woman as if she were nothing more than an inconvenient piece of furniture.
“She needs to know her place,” Lorraine sneered, her voice dripping with a sadistic, generational privilege that assumed their wealth and status placed them above the law, above morality, and above consequence.
In a tight close-up, Ethan loomed over her, stepping closer to tower above her broken posture. He leaned in to issue his final command, callously denying her basic human rights and emergency medical care.

“No hospitals. You’ll stay right here, clean this up, and if anyone asks, you’ll tell some dramatic story about an accident in the garden. You will not embarrass me,” Ethan snapped, his voice sharp and menacing, refusing her medical help solely to cover his own tracks and protect his public reputation from scandal.
They turned their backs, assuming the matter was settled. They walked out of the kitchen, their footsteps echoing down the hallway toward the living room, completely convinced that fear and physical intimidation were enough to keep her silent forever. They had no idea who they were dealing with.
