Chapter 10 - Midnight Ambush.

We waited on the rooftop adjacent to Julian's towering glass skyscraper.
A massive explosion echoed in the distance, lighting up the night sky with brilliant orange flames.
"That's Martha's signal," Marcus whispered through the comms in my ear.
I watched through my binoculars as three armored vans peeled away from the skyscraper's entrance.
"The perimeter is broken," I confirmed, securing my grappling hook to the roof's edge.
I fired the line across the gap, the hook biting securely into the reinforced steel of Julian's balcony.
I took a deep breath, stepped off the ledge, and swung across the dizzying drop.
The wind howled in my ears as I slammed onto the glass balcony of the penthouse.
I detached the line and drew my suppressed pistol in one fluid motion.
The sliding glass doors were locked, but a quick strike with my diamond-tipped glass breaker shattered the pane silently.
I stepped into the lavish, dimly lit living room.
The scent of expensive cigars and aged whiskey hung heavy in the air.
