Ribvar Karimi was taken into custody in Blount County, Alabama.

Man Charged in Shooting Near Vice President JD Vance’s Motorcade; Suspect Allegedly Shouted “Fk the White House”**

Federal authorities have charged Michael Marx, 45, of Midland, Texas, with multiple offenses following a shooting incident Monday near Vice President JD Vance’s motorcade in Washington, D.C.

The Department of Justice announced the charges, which include assaulting federal officers with a dangerous weapon, using and discharging a firearm during a crime of violence, and unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

According to court documents, Secret Service agents encountered Marx on the National Mall as Vance’s motorcade traveled along 15th Street and Independence Avenue SW.

An agent observed Marx walking with what appeared to be a concealed firearm.

Agents followed him and issued commands, at which point Marx drew the weapon in front of bystanders, leading to an exchange of gunfire.

Marx wounded a bystander who was crossing the street with his family, prosecutors said. He was arrested after collapsing from gunshot wounds.

While being transported in an ambulance, Marx allegedly shouted, “F*** the White House,” and repeatedly said, “Kill me, kill me, kill me,” according to authorities.

He was identified through his Texas driver’s license and was found to have used aliases including Patrick Michael and Michael Zavici.

Officials confirmed he did not possess a license to carry a handgun in Washington, D.C.

The incident occurred less than two weeks after another high-profile security event at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, where a Secret Service agent was shot at but protected by a bulletproof vest.

President Trump commented on that incident, noting the vest “did an amazing job” and describing the impact as “like getting hit by Mike Tyson.”

When asked whether he had considered wearing a vest himself, Trump responded lightheartedly that he did not think he could “handle looking 20 pounds heavier,” while praising the agents around him as “physical specimens.”

U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro stated that her office will pursue the most serious charges available.

“We will prove this defendant carried an illegal firearm into the heart of Washington, D.C., opened fire at Secret Service officers near a crowded intersection, and shot an innocent bystander who was simply crossing the street with his family,” Pirro said.

“My office will pursue the most serious charges available against anyone who brings gun violence to our streets, particularly when that violence unfolds steps from the seat of our government and the path of the Vice President of the United States.”

The Department of Justice did not specify whether investigators believe Marx specifically targeted Vice President Vance or other officials.
